In less than a month, delegates and speakers will gather in Dubai for the ninth edition of the Middle East Bunkering Convention (#MEBC24), taking place on the 6th & 7th February.
Since its inception in 2016, MEBC has established a prime position on the global marine fuels calendar. From the vantage point of early 2024 – and in the context of increasingly complicated geopolitical and regulatory landscape – MEBC is once again well positioned to offer informed perspectives from key industry leaders on the global and regional shipping and bunkering markets and the outlook for the rapidly evolving marine fuels sector.
The conference programme includes a raft of industry experts drawn from key maritime stakeholders, including:
New Training Course – An Introduction to Biofuels – 5th February
The shipping sector is closely monitoring the development of a raft of new fuels which will support its transition to net zero emissions. Increasingly, attention is being focused on the use of biofuels to facilitate – and even accelerate – the transition. The attraction of biofuel is that it can be used as a ‘drop-in’ fuel, requiring no significant changes to onboard technology. However, there are currently challenges to its uptake, such as operational issues, cost and its availability at scale.
An Introduction to Biofuels offers a focused and highly useful overview of the regulatory, commercial and operational considerations associated with the use of biofuels.
